Mustang Tuning: The Road To Maximum Power

The 72 Mustang meant that Ford had something big planned for it and so it was that in 1972 their model was released and it really attracted the attention of many people. Impressive looks, impressive attention to details, everything was just impressive about this car and no one seemed to even say a bad thing about it.

Even though Ford have had some hard times in the past with some of their Mustang models, this one really came on the scene and wanted to make sure that things will forever change for the good from now on.

Even though there were no abrupt and colossal changes made to the 1972 Ford Mustang, there were more surprises under its hood than many would have thought there were. So many people when it first appeared thought that Ford launched another Mustang but there is really nothing special about it. Boy, if they knew what a surprise they would be in for.

And so it was that people thought some things about it and they were to actually be true. Because of the fact that the world of muscle cars was shadowed by the fuel emission laws launched by General Motors, Ford had to cut some of the Mustang's power which was really a bad news, but they had to stick with the law. Even if the modified car audi a6 intake insurance was cut out, the car was still one of the best cars of the age.

Thus when it comes to engines and the compression level that was used, things have dropped here by a staggering full point, getting as low as 8.0:1, all of this translating to 95% HP. The 2 barrel 302 V8 engine also had its cut and was stacked at 8.5:1 and it was now running at 136 HP. When it comes to the 351s, the 2 barrel engine also had its share of the deal and was down to 168 HP and the compression level reached down to 8.6:1. And lastly the 4 barrel engine lost 5 HP going down to 275 HP and it was no longer called the "CJ". No more Mustang Tuning needed with these specs.

Even though these changes have had a massive impact on Ford's business, the American car manufacturer had to stick with the law, regardless of the hard times it was already going through. This left many fans disappointed but in the end it was a necessity. Aside that, people could be thankful and get the HO which was available for any 72 Mustang. And money wasn't a problem with it, as it would be available for $119.
