Guess Who's Leading the Pack in Electronic Peripherals?

 To make a name in such a competitive industry such as electronics manufacturing is a dream for most commercial players nowadays. Guess who's leading the pack in electronic peripherals- Vizio Inc.


With less than 8 years of operation, Vizio Inc. invaded the entertainment industry particularly the electronics hub. From the time it started selling electronics peripherals, it has sold to nearly half the market in US in less than a year.


It is the goal of the Irvine Company to take the position of the biggest and top consumer electronics company. This became apparent as it silently promoted home entertainment gadgets which included speakers, headphones and routers. One of its officials said that Vizio began as a no-brand product with the mere objective of manufacturing electronics brand and not just televisions.


Nevertheless, making TV has been the company's source of earnings. From the time they started, Vizio has sold more than thirty million televisions. Just recently, it has outsmarted Samsung for being able to top the chart in shipping LCD TV in the country.


Things have changed for Vizio; consumers have begun to recognize its products. This is contrary to how it was when people would even joke about their brand. Nowadays, when you talk about Vizio, you would think of it as another option for Samsung which is a high end TV maker.


Obviously, it was a right decision for Vizio to jump into accessories manufacturing such as electronics and gadgets as it gained attraction almost Sonic toothbrushes instantaneously. In fact, in less than a year, it has invaded almost half the US market. This report has been validated by the Consumer Electronics Association.


Another product, the Blu-ray players, sold more than 400% last month as compared to the same month last year. Meanwhile, its carrier headphones which can be connected to their television and sound bars are geared towards invading the market sometime in January next year.


To reiterate the company's success in non-TV products, Vizio officials said that its sales have shown a 300% increase from 900,000 pieces last year. They are expecting another half a billion dollars this year in addition to its overall sales which hit $2.5 billion last year.


The company has been guided by the same business model it has for its accessories in electronics. Instead of making television sets or electronic gadgets, Vizio would give the orders to its low-cost partners in China whose cost are not quite as high as local manufacturers would charge. For the most part, the company is focused on its own marketing instead of hiring PR firms to do their advertising works.


Vizio's success has been made possible for its timeliness. It made a debut of its LCD products and electronics accessories exactly when consumers started shifting to flat screen. It can be as competitive as Samsung especially if it will make products bigger than gadgets and TV accessories. If that happens, Vizio can expect to gain more profit as it would start selling more expensive products such as complete TV sets. Nevertheless, its decision to sell non-TV products would not face much of a problem since they are all TV related.
